di Grazia Dentoni

This is the story of a journey through space and time, it is the story of ten years of theatrical research that began when I became a mother, and I studied as a perinatal educator, a female figure who supports pregnant women, in childbirth and after childbirth.
After this training I felt it necessary to translate the acquired skills into my language, that of art and theatre.

Thus was born Matrilineare, a path of poetic-theatrical practice inspired by the Mother Goddess, aimed at groups of women and set in the most important archaeological sites in Sardinia.

An intense and magical work, a journey in the company of many friends, in the setting of THEATRI DI PACE, organized by the cultural association Ananché.

Matrilinear to Su Crocifissu Mannu- PortoTorres (ph. F. Ciotti)

Matrilinear is inspired by the work of Marjia Gimbutas, that of Maria Lai and the "tales of nuragheology" by Raimondo De Muro. It traces the passage of knowledge linked to the maternal line, from the deepest spirituality to nourishment, up to the oral transmission of natural skills linked to our being human on earth.

A theatrical work that brought together many women in rituals, songs, dances, laughter and poetry, a work set in the archaeological sites of Sardinia, in which the resonances of the invisible have reached our ears whispering the way forward.

Theater like archeology deals with excavations: with shovel and trowel, we dug into the depths of the soul, unearthing memories of our distant and near ancestors.

Matrilinear at Nuraghe Appidu (ph. F. Ciotti)

I was guided by unseen forces and continued on this wonderful journey, magically choosing the stages of Matrilinear. I found myself ferrying many souls inside domus de janas, giants' tombs, nuraghes, sacred wells, waterfalls, necropolises, nuragic villages, temples, enchanted woods ...

Now I propose to continue this journey also virtually, thanks and together with the Prehistory in Italy site, in which I will tell some "meetings" and some sacred places that hosted the Matrilinear theater through the drafting of cards and articles.

Matrilinear at the National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari (ph. F. Ciotti)

I begin with the great honor of introducing you to the Goddess of Olbia, godmother of Matrilineare who accompanied all the stages of Matrilineare in northern Sardinia with her smile. We met her at the Sanna museum in Sassari, where I had the opportunity to spend many hours working on the body and voice, also interacting with the tourists who arrived and found themselves participating in the ongoing performances… in this brief video lesson you can savor a magical moment at the Sanna museum, with the protection of the goddess of Olbia!
