A beautiful initiative curated by Barbara Crescimanno within the project CHORÓS of the association Arch Round Table of Palermo.
The atlas of the framed drum in the Euro-Mediterranean area was created to collect the documentation relating to the practices related to the frame drum as a ritual instrument, from the pre- and protohistoric period up to the present, with the relative bibliography, necessary to deepen the themes that emerge from the material presented.

Una webmaps which is proposed as a FREE didactic and research tool for how many and how many are working on these issues and are looking for, or want to, share it.

The material uploaded to the map up to now is just a tenth of that collected in the archive over the years; an ambitious and continuously working project that mainly wants to be SHARED. Collaborations are welcome, but also simple reports, suggestions, material relating both to new finds/documents/images and to the relative past and recent bibliography.

The Atlas is a path still under construction which has as its precedent the remarkable research work of LAYNE REDMOND.

The map is visible on the Arci Tavola Tonda website, on the CHORÓS Project page
